Olympic Day is celebrated on June 23 in Brazil and in all the countries whose National Olympic Committees are linked to the International Olympic Committee – IOC. The date marks the anniversary of the foundation of the IOC, in 1894, and is used to promote Olympism and the Olympic Movement around the world.

During the Olympic Day several activities are performed for the communities to promote such values as ethics, self-confidence, accountability, respect towards rules and opponents, and team work, among others. Besides the Olympic Day Race, there are also sports clinics, the attendance of ambassador athletes and several cultural activities during the event.
